“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.” — Exodus 20:2

If little green men suddenly appeared on this planet and it was your job to teach them about the Lord, what might you tell them? My guess is that nine out of ten people would include “creator of the world” in their first sentence. That is, after all, arguably God’s most famous act. However the first time that God introduces Himself to the world at large, by revealing himself at Sinai and handing down the Ten Commandments, this is what he says:  “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

What’s the first thing that God wants us to know about Him? Not that He created the world. God wants mankind to know Him as the being who took the nation of Israel out of Egypt.

Now, the Lord performed amazing miracles when He freed the Israelites from Egyptian bondage. No one can argue with that. But doesn’t splitting the sea pale in comparison with having created it in the first place?

Many years ago I was teaching a group of teenagers, and we were talking about the existence of God. One of the girls raised her hand and said, “Rabbi, I don’t believe in God. But I do believe in a Creator.” Huh?

It sounds ridiculous, but here is what this girl was really saying — She was saying that she believes that some infinite being created the universe, but is no longer involved in it. That’s why for her, there is no God. Thousands of years after creation, God has no idea that cars and computers have been invented, that nations engage in war, or that I had pizza for dinner last night. He did his job and moved on.

But God wants us to know this:  “I’m still here! I always have been and always will be!”

This is why the Almighty wants to be known as the being who saved Israel. He is telling us that not only did He create the world, He runs it, too! God is involved in every single aspect of life. He hears our prayers, just as He heard the prayers of the Israelites. Just as He saved them, God will come through for us too.

We are never alone. Can you see the hand of the Lord in your life? Are there times when things that seemed bad for you turned out to be the best thing ever? Can you find instances where amazing things happened that were beyond your doing? God is with us every step of the way. Always has been and always will be!

Dear Rabbi Eckstein I enjoyed this message very much and I knew why the girl said what she did before I read your reasoning and i believe many are like that or they are like a popular song that is out ‘Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to go now’ simply because they don’t want to give up their lifestyle it is kind of like those who want to have their careers and then have kids and that works real well starting a family at 40-45 yeah I have seen too many tragic situations when people have kids late in life either a large family or what I just described the two youngest of my dads siblings especially his youngest brother who was the baby he never grew up as far as being mature boy did I get off on the wrong tract sorry about that but in the 58 almost 59 years I
have been around I have seen many things both positive and negative but what I was part of on Sunday morning was nothing short of awesome see right now due to health issues I haven’t been able to attend church and since I enjoy listening to Jack Van Impe anyway satan was doing everything he could to try to prevent me from viewing the program and this was not the first time but this time he went all out in fact he even changed it to music I kid you not but guess what I knew right from the gitgo I was in for a rough time so I just said a prayer and turned it over to God and everytime satan did his stuff God corrected it even the music thing but what I witnessed was nothing short of pure awesomeness and the music was satans last stand excuse the pun none intended I wish you could have been here I have been sharing this with as many as I can He is alive and soon we will all see Him this wasn’t the first time I had experienced God at work but it was the first time I got to witness an actual battle oh I had no doubt who would win but witnessing it being played out was beyond description anyway thank you for this message and know I pray for you all each and every day;Your friend Bill

Excellent teaching. We know that whether we be Christian or Jewish that God is in control and can lead us out of whatever our “Egypt” may be. I pray daily for you, Rabbi, and the work of the fellowship. Hope to do a return trip to Israel.

Rabbi Eckstein I love reading your devotionals as a part of my daily touchdown, take off, take over & invade…a wholesome satisfying invasion of THE WORD OF GOD COVERING THE EARTH which keeps me SAFE!!! with saying that…lemme add…in terms of annoying distractions, bothersome interruptions, dangers and disasters come in many forms to hinder or make us lose our focus, question our love and security in God and to test try our unshakeable FAITH IN YESHUA MESSIAH, JESUS CHRIST. Well, I have learned to scoff and laugh it off as OUR GOD, CREATOR ELOHIM, FAITHFUL FATHER DOES. PSALM 37, 18 & 17 & 144. I say to MY DADDY, CREATOR OF HEAVEN & EARTH, THE UNIVERSAL STRETCH, ‘if I Am as YOU, DADDY, IN YOUR IMAGE AND ‘LIKENESS’….i guess YOU won’t mind too much if I just stand back, observe and LAUGH WITH YOU AS I SEE the enemy coming too, …. Apr’OUCH’ing…april showers brings MAY flowers. I love God, and MAY’HEM’ from DADDY IS TRULY BETTER THAN mayhem running amok in the world. We love you PA’ELOHIM!!!! STILL HOLDING THE HEM OFF HIS GARMENT …..IN MY HEART, MIND AND ALL STRENGTH!!!! God bless you Rabbi Eckstein & the Ministry!!! <3

This goes along with what we were discussing in Sunday School Easter Sunday. By looking at God’s creation, we know there is a God. There would be no life without God Almighty. God has gifted you to bring us all together and teach us.

Praise God our Father, For the perfect sacrifice God The Son Jesus, and giving His Comforter God The Holy Spirit, The signs of Jesus The King of Kings return are all around us, Look Up Your Redemption draweth nigh. God will never forsake you or leave you, Keep trusting and believing I AM, The Way, The Truth, and The Life, and no man cometh to the Father except they be drawn to HIM, through the Son Jesus. READ your Bible dailey, it keeps us on the straight and narrow way. Thank you, for all you do for the Jews,Love Them, Jesus is a jew. Love HIM.

    Is. 43:3
For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy
    One of Israel, thy Saviour:”

    Is. 43:11
I, even I, am the LORD; and
beside me there is no Savior

Wow, your header caught my attention
so I just thought I would add to that!

    Isaiah 53
3 He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with sickness; and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he has borne our sicknesses, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, struck by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded because of our transgressions, he was bruised because of our iniquities; his sufferings were that we might have peace; and by his injury we are healed.

That whole chapter goes on. It describes a man who takes a beating for the sins
of Israel. Could that be no other than Yushua HaMashiac?
